I know, my posts on Las Vegas were long overdue. I finally have time going through the photos taken on our Las Vegas trip. Looking through those food photos makes me want to go back there right now. Ah, so many nice restaurants. I can’t wait to share with you!! Click to read more!
Taiwan is a heaven for foodies. Especially Taipei city, which is packed with excellent restaurants. There is always new restaurants to try. And that’s basically what I did when I went back to Taipei- finding new restaurants to dine in.
One thing I couldn’t live without in Taiwan is the internet data plan. The road system is so complicated and confusing. Unlike New York City, the city is not laid out in a grid and the streets are not numbered. It is difficult to navigate without having Google Maps in front of you all the time. On my last trip back to Taiwan, I was being cheap and didn’t buy a data plan. I thought I would be fine if I pre-planned all my trips at home. And guess what? I was wrong!
I knew this place several years ago when I was living in Vancouver. It was already popular back then. Cheesecake is my favorite dessert so it was difficult for me not to notice this place.
The store is very big, but usually very busy that there is a lineup. Only opens in the evening. It is dimly lit which provides a romantic atmosphere.
There are many different types of cheesecake. Some people love the kind that has creamy, heavy taste with a dense consistency. I love the type of cheesecake that has a light flavor, not too sweet and has very fine consistency. That is exactly what you can find at Cheesecake Etc. Their original cheesecake has a light, airy texture similar to mousse. It is very smooth and fine. I really like it.
The cheesecake is the only thing I like over there though. Their Mumbai Fog (chai tea and milk) was very ordinary- I can make the same thing myself. The service was slow and poor. I guess they were just too busy. The drinks and desserts came very slow.
My review: It is like ferrero rocher. A perfect place for dates where you get delicious desserts and infrequent interruptions from the staff.
